About the Geeks
Guild Ranks
SGFW utilizes three ranks for non-officer members: Geek Applicant, Raider, and Casual.
Geek Applicant
Upon guild invite, players will be Geek Applicant for an evaluation period of 30 days. This period is for both the guild and the applicant to evaluate fit. After which, players who "pass" their evaluation will either be promoted to Casuals or Raiders.
Raiders
Raiders adhere to a required raid attendance and are given precedent when raid invites go out. Raiders are expected to always have raiding consumables, an understanding of encounter and class mechanics, and keep up on their class/role trends regarding gear, spec and execution.
Casual
Casual players will be invited to raids on an as needed basis but are held to no attendance requirement. When raiding from signups, casual players must also have consumables/be geared and specced appropriately.
Raiding as a geek
Signups are posted on Sunday evenings. They are largely first come first serve, though we reserve the right to move people around a bit for balance.
If you are not able to make a raid, sign up as not available. Indicating nothing by making no post/note/sign-up makes it difficult to organize.
If you are not able to make raids for a period of time (vacation, work schedule change, family, etc) let us know via post or PM an officer. We can sometimes handle these things as special circumstances, but if you do not let us know what is going on expect to be moved to casual.
Invites begin 15 minutes prior to raid start. If you are looking for someone to craft something pre-raid, this is the time to hit them up. If you are not online at raid start time you can be replaced. However, if you know you are running late and let someone know we will often hold your spot for a few minutes. Being online, but not accepting invite by raid start due to being otherwise engaged (arena, pvp, other raid, etc) is absolutely not acceptable and will be considered a no show.
If something comes up and you cannot make raid time, please let someone know. In these cases it can help to have a contact to text if you might find yourself without internet access to post/modify your signup. Find an officer or raider with good attendance that you are comfortable with and exchange information. If you show a pattern of not showing up, you will be moved to casual (even if attendance numbers remain good).
It should go without saying, but treat raid members with respect. Vent and raid chat are not for arguing. You can be removed from the raid if you are detrimental to progress or morale.
A small amount of strategy discussion is expected in raid. However, no one should talk over the raid leader, and no one should expect to change strats during a raid. Small specific issues can be addressed. Larger issues should be brought up on the forums.
We expect raiders to save raid lockouts to what is currently being scheduled (this could be one or more zones -- ask an officer if you aren't sure about this). Casuals are not required to save lockouts.

Schedule
25 man raids are Wednesday and Friday from 6:15p - 10:00p server time. Sign ups are posted via the SGFW website. First come first serve, with Raider Geeks given priority.
There are no formal sign up guidelines for 10 man raids. Any member is welcome and encouraged to organize 10 man encounters as they see fit.
Loot Rules
SGFW employs a modified zero-sum DKP system to distribute loot in guild sanctioned 25 man encounters, known as Geek Slaughter Points or GSP.
